We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Young and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I think that it was only about two years ago that I realized I was/am an artist! My canvas is inside of a kitchen where I make amazing foods and where I use quality spices, flavorings, and other all natural ingredients. It was two years ago that I realized creating products and cooking is my artistic ability and that there was going to have to be a moment, real soon in my life, where I was going to have to make some decisions about my job, the people around me, and the space around me. When you pursue creativity, your world is never the same and the products I create reflect my passion for health, wellness, and living.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a baking and cooking company that provides good, clean products and cooking for you and your family. Our mission statement and motto: “Consistency over time, under pressure”. Nothing is easy and you stick with it and continue to connect, make partnerships, and listen.

So, I feel like my art is my entire line of granola and food products. The moves I make today for this company may impact families tomorrow, so we do not use meat in our food products, and we do not add additives or preservatives or anything artificial in our cooking or baked goods. In our granola, we only use honey as a sweetener which is always a surprise to most people because the honey sweetens the organic oats just right and my touch of the right all-natural flavorings makes our granola the perfect and smartest snack for your lifestyle.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Wow! This is such a fun question because I would definitely take them to the Botanical Gardens and Stone Mountain Park for a crisp clean walk around the mountain. For a day trip that involved shopping and some good eating, we would head out to the Shoppes at River Crossing in Macon, Georgia. I would probably end the week on the Ferris wheel downtown and stop at McCormick’s, the seafood place.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I was raised by my grandmother – plain and simple. She made gardens grow, mowed grass, and tried to prune trees. She made wine and canned peaches. When she cooked in the kitchen, she made a story unfold. Therefore, you are reading my story today.
