We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Tholmer and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Starting my business was driven by a deep passion for helping others and a desire to create a fulfilling and balanced life for myself and my family. As a mother of a young child, I wanted the flexibility to control my schedule, ensuring I could be present and actively involved in my child’s life. This balance allows me to pursue my professional goals while cherishing the precious moments of motherhood. Combining my expertise in therapy with the ability to manage my time effectively has enabled me to support my clients on their healing journeys while being the attentive and present mother I strive to be.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Solace Intervention specializes in trauma therapy, helping adults uncover and leverage their inner strengths for emotional well-being and fulfillment. Our personalized approach emphasizes resilience and purpose, offering a safe space for exploration and positive change.

Starting this business required dedication and overcoming challenges, especially balancing my career with being a mother. This experience reinforced the importance of flexibility and presence in my child’s life.

Through valuable lessons in resilience, community support, and self-care, I’ve grown both personally and professionally. I am proud of the nurturing environment at Solace Intervention, where clients can explore their past, understand their experiences, and develop coping strategies.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend visited Atlanta, I’d take them to Punch Bowl Social for some fun activities like bowling and karaoke. We’d also explore The Battery, have dinner at El Felix, and then head to The Works ATL for breakfast at Willa’s Provisions and lunch at Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q. Outdoor adventures would include hiking at West Palisades and a picnic at Westside Park. We’d visit the National Center for Civil and Human Rights or the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historical Park, enjoy Ponce City Market for shopping and rooftop fun, and end with brunch at a cozy spot and dinner at Staplehouse.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’m grateful for the incredible support I’ve received throughout my career from various facets of my life, both personal and professional. My family and close friends have been my rock, providing unwavering encouragement and love. Colleagues and mentors in the Metro Atlanta area have also played a significant role, offering invaluable guidance and wisdom. Additionally, I owe a special thank you to the G33ky Clinicians Accountability Club https://www.g33kyclinicians.com/, which currently provides me with the support and motivation to keep pushing forward. Their collective encouragement and shared insights have been instrumental in my journey.
