We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Theodore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, how do you think about risk?
Call me unconventional, but risk taking is absolutely ESSENTIAL in the life of a successful entrepreneur. We are all familiar with the phrases “scared money don’t make money” and “no risk it, no biscuit”, right? I’m not advocating for misguided exercises in stupidity. However, it is possible to take measured, calculated risks in your industry and enjoy a huge payoff. Fortune rewards the brave! Will every risk work out? No. But in business, sometimes it’s better to be a PIRATE, rather than join the NAVY.

What should our readers know about your business?
What makes The Theodore Firm stand out, is our reason why we do what we do. Living out your dreams can be a full time job (and a half). We understand first hand that the life of an entrepreneur or an artist is not for everyone. It takes grit, determination, and a thick skin to pursue your passion. We dream-chasers know what it’s like to work ourselves 60 hours a week some weeks, just to avoid working 40 hours a week for someone else. At The Theodore Firm, our job is to help lighten the load of the dream-chaser. Let us worry about the legalities of owning and operating a business, while you get back to doing what you do best – CREATING. We pride ourselves in making sure our clients’ business, assets, intellectual property, and most importantly their REPUTATION remain protected from the inevitable obstacles that we all encounter. In short, what we offer our clients is PEACE OF MIND.

The journey to get where I am today was most definitely not easy. Attending law school in the middle of the financial crisis of ’08-’09 was hectic to say the least. Not to mention firms were reluctant to hire upon graduating due to slow economic recovery. Follow that up with the fact that I failed my first attempt at the bar exam. Through it all I can say that the hard times have definitely made me stronger. Interestingly enough, as I look at my current vision board, I think the hardest challenges still lie ahead of me!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Other than the fact that I owe everything to God, a special shout out is definitely due to my parents. I cannot over estimate the power of seeing a good example set in front of you, day in and day out.
