We had the good fortune of connecting with Nicole Mason and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nicole, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think that most important factor behind the success is Ivory & Beau is due to the personality of the brand, the openness, realness of the brand. I am not afraid to show up on social media as who I am and who the women on our team are. We do not try to be something we are not, but rather instead love being able to show the real people behind the brand. Unlike some bridal boutiques, Ivory & Beau is not stuffy in any sense. It is a fun laid-back environment that prides itself on it’s friendly and warm atmosphere that makes customers feel like they are at home. When it comes to floral design and weddings, Ivory & Beau is not afraid to try something trendy, unique or different when creating to show off fun new styles. I think allowing our personalities to show through have made the brand relatable and allowed people to relate easier to us as a brand in a sense where they feel like they know us!
What should our readers know about your business?
I’ve been working in the wedding industry since 2011 when I first moved to Savannah. It took a long time to get to where we are today and it is so exciting to finally be at a place in my business where I can work on it and not “in” it in the sense that my role has gradually become less wedding planner, bridal stylist, florist and more the overseeing manager of the business. I get to focus on the aspects of business that are my absolute favorite like content creation, talking with potential new couples getting married, handling purchase orders, scheduling my team and creating new projects for the team to focus on. It has taken a lot of hard work to grow to this point and without finding the RIGHT people it would have never been possible. It is light and day when you find the RIGHT people to join your team. They are dedicated in ways that truly help transform your business from good to great. If there was one tip I could provide others with it is the importance of a great team. As I am now preparing for motherhood I feel blessed and so fortunate to have found some incredible women who do the daily operations of Ivory & Beau while I can focus on those tasks that I truly enjoy and love that also allow me the time and space to raise a family, which is my next adventure in this crazy life!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Savannah, Georgia is the most fun city I have ever lived in! Plus the fact that you can walk around with cocktails on the streets makes it perfect for a fun weekend getaway!! I love the rooftop bars like Peregrin at the Perry Lane, The Lost Square at The Alida, Electric Moon at Plant Riverside are the perfect spot for some great views, yummy cocktails and delicious appetizers. After that walking around River Street, City Market and Broughton Street are the perfect places to take in the best shopping and more yummy drinks and snacks. Co has the best Asian fusion bites for dinner and after bellies are full heading back to Plant Riverside for live music and outdoor entertainment is the perfect ending to a fun evening.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are two men in my life who have truly helped me to get to where I am today: 1 is my dad and the other is my late grandfather. They have been by my side through some of the hardest times and helped me with advice and getting through tricky situations! Their guidance has helped mold me into the entrepreneur and girl boss I am today.
