We had the good fortune of connecting with Nichole Rose-Turner and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nichole, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I honestly feel like I was born with an entrepreneur spirit. I have had many jobs (corporate, education, retail etc) and would always catch on quickly to the tasks given. I’m naturally a “take charge” type person. I pulled from my many experiences at other jobs, which in turn helped me know how I wanted to manage and run my own company. The goal was work for myself and have a brand that I was proud of. I pride myself on great customer service and doing my best to make my clients feel relaxed and comfortable. This is one of the reasons my booking have doubled and client retention has been great!
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am a licensed Esthetician and owner of Spa Londyn Bella. I provide beauty services which include facials, waxing, lash extensions, body treatments, and non-invasive lipo. I pride myself on making clients feel comfortable and at home when they visit the spa. I’m a big stickler on customer service so I try to make sure I am on point in that area. I’m truly proud of the progress that I have made for this brand in the last three years! The schooling I received has definitely played a part in my success, but honestly it’s nothing like “life’s experiences” getting your ready for being an entrepreneur! It definitely has not been easy and many days I wanted to give up, but I know what my ultimate goal is and I have to push on through all challenges. Lots of self reflection has helped me to overcome many obstacles. The lessons learned have been many. I’ve learned to never underestimate your own capabilities, to realize that you can’t do it all on your own and it’s ok to ask for help or hire help. I’ve also learned that those who may have started with you will not always finish with you. Everyone has their own individual race to run. I pray that I can leave a legacy that my children are proud to be a part of. I’m hoping that every client that I have ever serviced, will remember how special they are!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love food! So we would definitely start off with Breakfast at Barney’s or Le Petite Marche. I’m not too much of a club person anymore but I definitely like the vibes I get at a nice lounge. Suite Lounge, BQE Lounge, and The Cigar Bar are a couple of places I could catch a vibe. I’m an outdoor person also so Piedmont park or Atlanta Botanical gardens is a go-to. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’m truly thankful to my husband Degario Turner for believing in me almost more than I believed in myself!! I’d like to thank Hogan Institute of Cosmetology & Esthetics where I received my education in the wonderful field of beauty. I’d definitely like to thank my two daughters Londyn & Isabella who’s the inspiration behind this whole brand. And finally I thank God my creator for blessing me along this journey with more than I could have asked!
