We had the good fortune of connecting with Nell Andrea and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Nell, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I wanted to find a way to somehow escape the traditional box of healthcare. I wanted to explore a more creative side of the field to keep me inspired. My creativity with making healthcare apparel and accessories got me as well as others through the pandemic. I received tons of emails about how my products made others smile, which inspired me to keep going.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is my eye for detail. I am a perfectionist when it comes to putting out work, which my supporters appreciate. It was not and easy journey, but I was able to overcome challenges by taking a step back, reassessing, and executing in a different direction. It’s not bad to hit the pause button when you need to redirect. The biggest thing I want the world to know about my brand is that it is okay to be non traditional. You can take your career and flip it. You can create the life you want by going in the direction you want. I’m a nurse who enjoys content creation and branding. Non traditional RN.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For a week long trip in New York, I would take them to Brooklyn for some good food, drinks and outdoor festivals near Brooklyn Bridge Park. I would also take them to Queens for nightlife.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give a personal shoutout to my friends, family, and supports who inspire me to never stop going. I wanted to shut down my business many times, simply because I did not know which direction I was headed. They always remind me how skilled I am for turning nothing into a big something. It’s been a journey and I am so grateful to have them with me.
