We had the good fortune of connecting with Nate Biser and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nate, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to love what I did for a living. I found my passion in life and failure was not an option.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I had to go through many challenges to get to where I am today. In November of 2019, I had my thumb and index finger of my right hand rolled into a machine at my last job. I had de-gloved both digits and the doctors at the ER wanted to remove them right away. But with the help from God and my wife, the doctors decided to think of another option. They were able to sew my thumb into a slit in leg and sew my index finger to a flap of skin on my thigh. Then sewed the side of my hand to my leg so I couldn’t move my hand around. So I had to go six weeks without the use of my dominate hand/arm. It was the worse time in my life. I had to go through many surgeries and physical therapy to be able to use my arm and hand again. I spent my recovery time learning more about my passion for photography and drones. Photography and drones were the only thing that got me out of my dark hole. I had a new outlook on life and I wanted to be happy in life. I realized that I could have been sucked all the way through a machine and died. I wanted to take this second chance in life and I was able to make a living doing what I am so passionate about. Fail is not an option, because you fail when you give up. I am not giving up. I am now pushing myself further than I ever had before. I am taking myself out of my comfort zone and have been growing as a person ever since.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta and the surround metro area has so many wonderful people, places and things to do. Places to visit would be 1. Downtown Ellijay, GA – I love the look and feel of downtown Ellijay. So many cool shops and places to eat.
2. Downtown Woodstock, GA. – My home town has so many cool shops, places to eat and free concerts once a week in the summer at the amphitheater.
3. Exploring Atlanta would be a fun day trip for a friend visiting.
4. Go boating on Lake Allatoona
5. Having drinks and hanging out at Reformation Brewery in Woodstock and Canton, GA
6. Stopping by Bananas and Beehives in downtown Canton, GA for a tasty treat.
7. Visiting the Woodstock and Canton Farmers Market on Saturday morning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mother has been my biggest fan by far. If she hadn’t pushed me to making canvases from my drone photos, I wouldn’t be where I am today. On top of that, I have to also thank Bob Wolf of The Wolf Team of Keller Williams. Bob is my biggest client and gave me my shot into real estate photography. I also had help from the business networking groups around where I live. I have grown my referral network and that has also push my business to the next level.
