We had the good fortune of connecting with Natasha Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Natasha, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Natasha’s Thread is a Fashion PR firm for fashion events. My goal is to build and maintain relationships in the fashion industry and assist in creating curated and exclusive fashion events.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I started Natasha’s Thread LLC in 2017, at that time I was in a transition in my life that made me seek out my heart’s desires. I attended celebrity fashion stylist J. Bolin’s first Fashion Boot Camp in Dallas, TX. I had just enough money to purchase a plane ticket and thankfully I had a place to stay for free. It was a leap of faith for me to attend. I was chosen out of numerous candidates, so I just had to make it happen by any means necessary. It’s one of the best decisions I have made to help launch Natasha’s Thread LLC. I started styling clients as I worked a full-time job, all while getting my MBA in Digital Entrepreneurship. I launched an online boutique at the end of 2018, and tragically my mother passed away at the beginning of 2019. My online boutique was put on hold as I grieved my mother’s death. My mother was one of my fashion icons growing up. So, launching my fashion business was a huge accomplishment that my mother got to witness before she passed away. And that meant a lot to me, and with that said I will continue to move forward because of her. In this journey of discovery, I discovered that my niche is connecting brands and doing exclusive and curated luxury fashion events. I launched my first fashion event called Fashion Night Out December 11, 2021 with CEO Hope Anusiem, founder of Fashion Row. We hosted this event at Art Meso, an Art and Fashion Exhibition experience. I also became a board member of Fashion Group International Atlanta.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city is Spaceman Rooftop Bar, it has a great view of the city of Atlanta and has great drinks and tapas. I would also take them to the Beltline for a nice long walk and stop at Playabowl for a nice healthy bowl of fruit and toppings. We would also go to any festivals that are going on around the city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
