We had the good fortune of connecting with Narinder Bazen and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Narinder, how did you come up with the idea for your business?
We may get new callings several times in our lives. My death midwifery business was just that. I followed the calling and it was as though doors just opened up for me. It felt risky, it didn’t feel easy all of the time, but it felt necessary.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My death midwifery brings the magical and the mundane to the dying and their families. Not only am I an anchor in times that may be traumatic for my clients and their families, times such as sudden deaths, loss of life by suicide, or terminal diagnosis, I am also a lighthouse for them, reflecting their wholeness and dignity. I am an Intuitive Counselor and that deep knowing plays into my work as a death midwife greatly. I am able to sense the subtle energy in the space and to bring awareness to ways we can create a harmonious vibration for one who is facing the greatest journey of their life.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite spot in Atlanta is Oakland Cemetery. There is something so otherwordly once you enter the gates there. I love to picnic amongst the headstones.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My death midwifery clients have taught me so much. They have continued to reflect back to me that death midwifery is essential. It is for them, for the possibility of getting to sit, even just one more time in a absolute Truth, is such inspiration.
