We had the good fortune of connecting with Naimah Perkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Naimah, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
I realized that I have always loved dressing nice and piecing clothes together nicely. It wasn’t until a little later that I realized that it was a career Field for people who don’t want to design 24/7 but want to create. I started embracing my styling side and have been putting my foot in the door ever since 2020.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I put my creative side into fashion and styling. I am proud that I pushed myself to be a part of the 2022 COLA fashion show, as well as well as put my work on instagram. I’ve been recognized by other stylists who are expanding their brands. It made feel like my fear of starting was the right decision.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I grew up in Virginia and the city of Philadelphia. In Philly, I like to go on the rooftop of Cira Green to take pictures, eat, have a picnic, or watch a good movie or concert. It’s a really beautiful place during the summer to visit and have a nice day out.

For food, downtown Philly has a bunch of restaurants and nice places to relax and explore. The suburbs of Philly has nice family restaurants and exquisite dining such as Booker.

You can sleep in the hotels downtown or Airbnb’s in west Philly or the suburbs.

It’s a quick drive to New Jersey and New York. All you need is a group of fun friends!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I started putting my creation out on Instagram in 2020, and since then Chi Lochi, Fashion Stylist and business owner has supported me and given me her platform to express myself creatively on multiple occasions, through her digital magazine, her live on her platform, and lastly, nominating me for Shoutout Atlanta. I really appreciate her encouragement.
