We had the good fortune of connecting with Nagier Chambers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nagier, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
With the pandemic forcing the world into a unprecedented state, I knew it was no better time than now to start to full invest into all the hobbies and creatives that reflect me. But with that I wanted to create a space for other creative minds to also express and exercise their skills and talents.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Big Gold Belt Media is an entertainment outlet that focuses on television, film and pop culture from the perspective of people of color with a diverse background. We strive to highlight people of color and all minorities in these spaces with the emphasis of inclusion and diversity.

We provide reviews, recap discussions, podcast, along with exclusive red carpet and event coverage including film festivals, conventions and other notable annual events.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Cant go wrong with “District Wharf”. Great food spots, great hang out spots, concert venue and the views is always on point. My favorite spot is 12 Stories. Great drinks and the views! La Vice has great food selections and you have Gordon Ramsay Hell’s Kitchen & Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips right there! Love tacos? Then hit up Bartaco. Lastly The Anthem is one of the best concert spots in Washington DC.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Its really hard to narrow this down to one person, but I am truly thankful for my surrounding friends and family who all serves an important part in this journey called life. For the ones who force me to test myself, the ones who make sure I prioritize my mental health, the once who have created a space for me to thrive or simply the ones who have just loved me. I am truly blessed that even at this point in my life I have friends that range over 30 something years or even the ones under 10 who all love and support me that all makes me a better person day by day.
