We had the good fortune of connecting with Nadine Marcelin and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Nadine, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business is definitely focused on helping the community. As a black woman with ADHD, it’s a struggle finding productivity tools and supplies that feel and work like they were designed with me in mind. We do not all learn and work the same. Office, school, art supplies, and productivity applications are typically designed for the same type of learners and workers, excluding people with different learning styles, working styles, and cultural environments. Additionally, most products on the market prioritize design and aesthetic versus solving the user’s problem. Consequently, people with different learning and working styles have a small pool of helpful tools to choose from, making it difficult to increase their productivity. Lemonadine aims to bring diversity and inclusion to behavioral management and productivity tools.

My company, Lemonadine, values productivity and creativity. Without productivity, we struggle to produce good results. Without creativity, we struggle to solve problems. Some workers need products to help manage their ADHD symptoms, lower their anxiety, and increase their productivity. Some learners need to see representation in their supplies to help inspire and increase their creativity. Our products prioritize both design and functionality and keeps the user in mind.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am a Productivity expert with experience consulting, coaching, and supporting small business owners, leaders, and working professionals. I received my B.A in Philosophy from the University of South Florida and M.P.A with a concentration in Nonprofit Leadership and Management from Clark Atlanta University. I am also a member of the National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals. Prior to my career shift, I worked as a Digital Strategist and managed digital projects for small nonprofit organizations. My gift is using strategy and creativity to help people find and maintain balance, increase productivity, and create more time for the things they enjoy. I founded Lemonadine to help learners and workers maximize their productivity and produce good results in their personal and professional lives.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As a creative entrepreneur, I have more ideas than I know what to do with. Of course, there are times when this comes in handy. Other times, it has left me needing clarity and focus. Thanks to the mentorship I have received from Le’Var Norsworthy, Chief Creative Officer of Marc Norsworthy & Co, I not only have clear goals to help me grow my business, but I also know the steps to get there. Le’Var has helped me to expand my creative and strategic thinking and continuously encourages me to look at things differently. If it wasn’t for his ingenuity and intuitive thinking, I’d probably still be deciding whether to turn left or right. He has helped, counseled, and guided me throughout my entire entrepreneurial journey
