We had the good fortune of connecting with Myochi & Renee’ and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Myochi & Renee’, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“If it cost you your peace it’s too expensive.” This quote resonates with us so much because when you reach your 40s you tend to have a different outlook on life. Our experiences over the years have taught us the importance of peace in every area. And when we speak to others in our age group we often hear the same sentiment. 40 is truly the age that many begin prioritizing themselves and their joy. Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Being friends over 15 years, we have seen growth and evolution in one another. When we stepped into our 40s we noticed that our conversations changed and we started asking ourselves the hard questions. Sometimes we had answers, sometimes we didn’t. But we wanted to dive deeper into the psychology and pathology of life. Knowing that there are others who are experiencing the same growing joys and pains, we wanted to share the lessons we have learned. This led us to the world of podcasting, where we believe we can create a platform for those in search of the same thing. The 40 Spot is where problems meet solutions….and we have a little fun…well a lot!

We are very new to this industry and we are learning as we go. What we have found to be the hardest is just getting started [the podcast]. The lesson we’ve learned is “You may not get everything right but at least you are moving”.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well being in our 40s, a good girls night in with some wine and delicious food always wins. Lol However, there are a few places that are musts when company comes to town:

We would definitely catch a live performance at the world renowned Fox Theater. The architecture and detailing inside the building is impeccable. We would also visit IWI Fresh Spa. Their products and services are amazing., and you walk out feeling brand new. For some weekend fun we could hit up Josephine Lounge which is a great spot for good drinks, vibes, and great music. Ponce City Market is another place for great food and boutique shopping. On the weekend, their rooftop mini carnival is converted to a hanger out spot for adults only with a DJ, and drinks flowing. Now for food…our favorites are Poor Calvin’s and Milk & Honey. Lastly, we would have to hike up Stone Mountain early Sunday morning.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
We definitely will shoutout our moms. Both of these women have been supportive of all of our dreams. They are reliable and true motivators. Our moms hold us accountable to do what we say we are going to do. We can go to them for insight and feedback. Their experiences are an endless tap and wisdom and strength. Their navigational support has been instrumental, especially now being in our 40s.
