Meet Mya Miller

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mya Miller and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mya, what are you inspired by?
I make no moves without first consulting with the Holy Spirit. I am a firm follower of Jesus Christ. Without Him, there is no me. Other than my faith, my family inspires me. Without my family’s love and tangible support, nothing that I do would matter.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As a Creative, my least favorite thing on the earth is a box. The Lord has gifted me vastly. I used to feel demonized for the grace I possess to do what I do. In maturity, I have grown to accept that boxes and I will never mix. There are too many sheep called to the voice of Mya Jurnae for me to live in a box.

I am most excited to share the wealth of knowledge that I have. I feel like I’m finally out of the trenches, LOL! Getting to where I am was by no means easy. I overcame the challenges by accepting the qualification that I receive from the Lord. FAVOR AIN’T FAIR.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A-T-L-A-N-T-A-G-A, that’s where I’m from!

A perfect day here looks like breakfast at Waffle House (ALL-STAR ME, PLEASE). The sketchier looking the Waffle House, the better the food, I promise! Then we’d go catch a movie at IPIC. After that, we could grab some lunch in Atlantic Station. I’m currently learning how to bowl, so while at Atlantic station we’ll go to Bowlero. After winning, I’d treat you to some dinner on the East Side. Chou Lee’s – BEST CHINESE FOOD EVER! In conclusion, we’ll go get milkshakes from Chick-Fil-A!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Deirdre Miller, my mommy. The woman who hears all of my ideas, dreams, and visions. Mrs. Make It Happen, if you will! Mommy, I owe you everything. Thank you for your constant love that never changes. Thank you for wiping my tears when I’m sad, and laughing with me in my joy. Thank you for birthing my built-in best friends, my siblings, TaQuesha, Deric, and Rachel. I love you so much!

To my Senior Pastor, Dr. Kerwin B. Lee, thank you for being such an amazing role model in my life. Through your obedience in starting this church I have met some of the most important people in my life.

In Summer 2023 I graduated from “Permission Room”, led by Dr. Jackie Greene. In Permission Room I experienced the tangible love and freedom found in Jesus Christ through relevant advice, judgement-free listening, and like-minded sisterhood. PJ, thank you for your yes! Since graduating from Permission Room I see myself as who God has created me to be. To my PR sisters, you all saw more of me than I ever thought I’d feel comfortable expressing, thank you so much.

To anyone who has ever spoken life into me, thank you. Your seeds of life have been planted in good soil. Sooner or later, if you haven’t already, you WILL see those seeds be made manifest in my life.
