We had the good fortune of connecting with Mpoyi Mpoyi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mpoyi, why did you pursue a creative career?
I’ve always been a fan of all art or just anything in the creative world. I enjoy seeing things in full color and feel as if I am too innovative to just sit back and not indulge in creative work. I’ve always had plans to change the world positively and inspire as much as I can and as I grew older I began to see that it is possible through my career.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As I mentioned briefly before, when creating art I see in full color. What sets me apart is my ability to combine every genre of art into one, whether it be film, poetry, fashion, or choreography. I am able to fuse these artistic categories and bind them into its own special genre.

Building something from nothing is never easy, but the journey is what makes everything fulfilling seeing that your work is actually paying off. The hardest part of having an idea is bringing it to life. It’s a simple but effective statement once you think about it, but that is what I plan to do until my time is up. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is you have full control over how you want your life to be and when it comes to creating art you have to love it to make true change with it. I believe the biggest challenge is overcoming your mentality. The moment your mind is your best-friend is the same moment you discover yourself and purpose. If you told me at 17 in just two years I’d be able to sell out my own creative directed fashion shows and see my face in stores all across the U.S I would 1000% believe it because back then I discovered what my gift was.

I would like for people to know that what I am doing is the future of the creative world. It is only a matter of time when the rest of the world is able to realize that Mpoyi is truly here to better this world permanently through art.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would for sure bring them to IPIC or Ponce off first thought. I enjoy the settle atmosphere of those places where everyone is just having a good time. Rather than an expensive restaurant I’d rather prefer a raw feel of the city so maybe a food truck or even a place like Slutty Vegan. In my opinion anywhere with a rooftop viewing the city and a vhs camera is all it takes to truly have an authentic night in Atlanta

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yeah most definitely, there has been a number of people that have played a role in my story. Firstly, shoutout to GOD, shoutout to my family, shoutout to Holly, shoutout to Quamay, shoutout to Amunhotep, Jaqueline, the list could go on and on. Truthfully shoutout to everyone that has genuinely played a role in helping me become who I am.
