We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Wellens and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Morgan, alright, let’s jump in with a deep one – what’s you’re definition for success?
No matter how much money, awards or summer homes you stack up, the carrot is always dangling if your sights are set on the material world. I think the trick is to find success in the journey. It can be easy to compare where you’re at with where you want to be and feel unsatisfied, I catch myself doing this often. Instead, the focus should be on your personal growth, passions, and the people you care about. Success doesn’t have to be a destination; it can be the spark of satisfaction you feel every day.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Frame Worthy Gallery, is an art gallery that shines a spotlight on individuals in film and television who are also talented visual artists. As an actor myself, I was amazed to see the amount of raw, untapped talent hidden in the film industry. Frame Worthy Gallery represents actors, writers, producers, camera operators, and agents who also paint, draw, photograph, and create multimedia work. The concept for Frame Worthy Gallery came about during the COVID-19 crisis, when work on film sets came to a halt. I created a business where I take care of the left-brain work, so my artists can focus on the right-brain, creative stuff. The biggest challenge so far has been defining the physical presence of the business. Initially, I’d imagined the business having an online-only store, but I’ve come to realize that people want to see and experience art in person. Now, I have a pop-up wall at RoleCall theater in Ponce City Market and have hosted a few small, social-distanced events. Art is such a personal experience, so next year we aim to bring more art to the public.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We love brunch here in Atlanta, so I definitely recommend popping into Atlanta Breakfast Club. If you just have time for coffee, Chrome Yellow in Edgewood for a Maple Oat Latte is a must. My favorite Atlanta gem is the Forward Warrior Wall in Cabbagetown. It is a stretch of murals created by insanely talented artists that anyone can stroll past and enjoy. I also love the Beltline and Ponce City Market- there are so many great spots to stop at and public art to see. If you’re into crystals and positive vibes, walk into PCM and visit Modern Mystic for a Tarot reading. You HAVE to get BBQ if you’re in Atlanta, and Fox Brother’s Jalapeno cornbread is to die for. For a nightcap, hit up Golden Eagle. The mood and the cocktails are magical.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’ve been blessed to have a ton of support from my amazing friends, my family, and my film industry mentors on this journey. If I had to choose one person to shoutout, it would be my best friend, Karina Deochand, who has been here through it all. At the same time I started my business, she also opened an auto accidents & injuries law firm, D&J Law Team. She’s saved me so much on legal fees by spending countless hours putting together contracts for my business. We keep each other accountable – we have monthly check-ins to set and review our goals, both personal and professional. Although we’re in different industries, we have strategy and marketing meetings where we’re able to brainstorm for both businesses, and her insight has been invaluable. We’re constantly showing up for each other. Even though I don’t have a business partner, she makes me feels like I’m not on this journey alone.
