We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan Rogers and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Morgan, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Growing up I realized there are people in roles or positions where others may see them as unfit or unqualified. Although they may have been, in order to get where they were, they took a risk. I knew I wanted to be someone who uplifted and inspired others, but couldn’t figure out my path. When I launched my business in 2019, I took a risk not only on myself but on every talent I’d withheld. I took a risk in becoming an entrepreneur, and every day that followed. Being a risk taker has forced me to increase my work ethic, expand my resources and relationships, and more importantly, to be courageous. Do not allow your fears or doubts to derail you from your dreams. If you can think it, you can obtain it. Take the risk! Bet it all on yourself.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I said to myself, I’m going to capitalize off of my past insecurities. Growing up and being the “plump” girl with eczema, glasses, and braces I didn’t always have the highest confidence. It went beyond the physical, into my own capabilities. There are countless opportunities I’ve talked myself out of because I felt I couldn’t do it. But one day I realized when I got dressed, or got ‘GLAM’ I felt untouchable. Launching BLINKMORGGLAM, the stars in my universe aligned. I wanted BLINKMORGGLAM to not only be a brand but a lifestyle, a feeling, a mood. As the home to All Things Glamorous, each and every item from our online boutique is hand selected to compliment the Glamour Girl in you, to make you feel untouchable. I’m always working on new things to contribute to the business and my customers. I’ve learned you can never stop developing your business and when you’re passionate about it you never will. There’s always room for improvements or something that can be done better, and it will not always be easy. But it will always be worth it! I want people to know that you are capable of obtaining anything you want. You’re more than capable. Great things come to those who dress for it.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Living in Atlanta, especially now that this weather is warming up, I love to enjoy the rooftop vibes around the city. Ponce City Market is a great example. It has nice restaurants with amazing views and even a family friendly game area. I also love Piedmont Park for a day out in the sun, scooter rides, visits to the dog park, or the local pet friendly restaurant pub. Another one of my favorite things about Atlanta is the nightlife. I personally prefer hookah lounges like Pashas, or discovering hidden gems throughout downtown and midtown like Little Trouble. Atlanta is a melting pot and there’s always a different mix of people on the scene. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I dedicate this shoutout to 950. I’ve had the privilege of growing up in a loving, two parent home, with my grandma and my little sister. Everything that I am today was instilled with and through them. My parents have given my sister and I every opportunity and experience. My grandma has been my in-house counselor. My sister has been my motivation and my energy source when I feel low. I’m fortunate to have their unwavering love and support.
