We had the good fortune of connecting with Morgan B. Cash and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Morgan B., have you ever found yourself in a spot where you had to decide whether to give up or keep going? How did you make the choice?
Honestly, wanting to give up is a normal response to life’s adversities. Life can be hard no matter if you’re a parent, employee, student, or business owner. No one is exempt from unfortunate circumstances.
I remember being in the 10th grade and my Honors English teacher gave us this assignment to recite a speech from one of Shakespeare’s plays. Up until this point, I was doing very well in this class although according to the school’s statistics, I didn’t belong because I was the only black student & I transferred from the public school system.
The teacher gave us two chances to recite the speech and on my very first attempt, I was terrible. I went home crying because I felt like a failure and I’d never received a bad grade before in my life. I was honestly willing to take that F and never face that level of humiliation again! My mom wasn’t having it! She told me in so many words that not only am I going to go back up there and try again but I’m also going to make an A.
So I took the challenge and studied every moment I was awake. I studied in the car on the way to school, in the shower, at dinner, at church in the choir stand. I was determined to not give up. Of course, I ended up with the best performance and received a standing ovation, but none of that would’ve happened if I gave up. My mom motivated me to do my best and I had faith in myself that I would be able to do better with a second chance.
I remember this story often when I want to quit. As a business owner, sometimes it feels like it’s easier to quit and go back to my comfort zone. The reality is that if we decide to give into those overwhelming feelings of giving up, we will forfeit the rewards of our perseverance. My grandma has always told me to never get tired of doing the right thing and I’m reminded of this when I feel like things are much harder than I expected. So instead of quitting, I make the decision to remember the importance of my purpose and the lives I’ve been called to impact.
My ultimate goal is to become my great-grandmother’s wildest dreams. If I always remember that, there’s no way I can ever quit.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I own a company called Her Brand Agency. We are a business support agency for small business owners who want to launch their companies, manage their teams, and streamline their business operations. I am very proud of my clients who have: -Launched clothing & accessory boutiques, fitness programs, cleaning subscription boxes & software companies,
-Became featured in BuzzFeed,
-And landed partnerships with local stores to feature their products.
If you have a product or service that you want to launch online, we are the team you need to help transform your idea. into a profitable company and help you manage your day-to-day operations.
Building this company has been fun and challenging. I became a full-time business owner in July 2019 and this has been the hardest thing I’ve ever done in life. It’s also the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done. I built this company with the skills that I learned while working in management in different industries and while studying business and fashion at Auburn University. I’ve learned so much about myself and the mindset shifts I needed to make in order to be successful. The biggest challenge was transitioning from an employee to the boss. It’s one thing to be responsible for one job but it’s a completely different ball game when you have to make constant decisions to keep the company running smoothly.
I’ve learned that taking risks and imperfect actions while being afraid is a part of the process. No matter what, I have to trust that God has equipped me with the skills I need to best serve my clients & team.
In addition to running Her Brand Agency, I am a launch & systems strategist for coaches & consultants to help them implement the tech & systems they need to launch their online programs and digital products. Each week, I host a podcast called The Morgan B. Show that’s about teaching creative women entrepreneurs how to strengthen their faith, develop their confidence, and show up unapologetically while building their personal brands & businesses.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Depending on the time of the year, we would either go to a Hawks or Falcons game. During the week, we would visit the High Museum of Art, my favorite malls Perimeter, Cumberland, & Ponce City Market. We would have to eat at some of my favorite spots like True Kitchen, Maggiano’s, & Slutty Vegan. Before we leave town, we would have to make a quick stop by Davinci’s Donuts to satisfy our sweet tooth.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to God and my family. God has saved me from myself so many times and consistently shown me that I”m never alone no matter what I go through. There’s not enough space to express my gratitude. I’m BEYOND thankful.

Knowing your story puts a new meaning to hearing you say “I can’t complain.” I honor you by focusing on God and His faithfulness like you did. You will forever be my favorite person and I hope that I’m making you proud while you party in heaven with Jesus.
