Meet Montana Busch | Solar Power and Energy Storage Expert

We had the good fortune of connecting with Montana Busch and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Montana, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
At 16 years old, I set a goal to build a solar power business to help home and business owners reduce their carbon footprint while gaining energy independence and fighting back against the fossil fuel companies and their Class A shareholders. I was initially drawn to solar power because of its technological nature and because it’s really cool that something as simple and abundant as sunlight can be converted to electrical energy.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Alternative Energy Southeast (AES) is built on the belief that solar power is not just an energy solution—it’s a movement toward decentralization, sustainability, and a smarter way of powering the world.
What sets AES apart is our deep commitment to quality, innovation, and doing what’s right for our customers. We don’t just install solar panels and batteries —we create tailored energy solutions designed to maximize reliability and long-term savings.
Getting here wasn’t easy. When I first started, I faced the classic challenges of any entrepreneur—limited resources, skepticism, and the need to prove myself in an industry dominated by larger, more established companies. But through relentless determination, a focus on technical excellence, and a customer-first mindset, I was able to grow AES into a trusted name in solar energy.
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that success isn’t about shortcuts—it’s about consistency, adaptability, and always staying ahead of the curve. Technology evolves, policies shift, and consumer needs change, but by staying committed to innovation and integrity, we continue to thrive.
What excites me most is seeing how solar power is changing lives—helping businesses cut costs, homeowners take control of their energy, and entire communities move toward a cleaner future. At AES, we’re empowering people to make a real impact.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I spend a lot of time outdoors frequenting places such as Stone Mountain Park, East Palisades next to the Chattahoochee River, and the Yellow River Park. Walking the Beltline is always a good time too. My absolute favorite restaurant in Atlanta is The Optimist. It’s pricey but worth it if you appreciate high-end seafood.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’m immensely grateful to The Great Creator for guiding me towards this purposeful path in life where I get to help people reduce their energy costs and carbon footprint, and get paid to do it! I’m providing an alternate option to buying from power companies who have enjoyed operating a legal monopoly for over 100 years. One particular book I was inspired by is The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. That book taught me to listen to the “language” of the universe, to be patient, and to know that failures are necessary steps towards achieving success. In the early days of evolving into an entrepreneur, I was very moved by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s six secrets to success: 1) Trust yourself. 2) Break some rules / think outside the box. 3) Don’t be afraid to fail. 4) Ignore the naysayers. 5) Work like hell. 6) Give something back.
