Meet Monica Renee | Entertainment Page

We had the good fortune of connecting with Monica Renee and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Monica, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
When I created Monica Renee Tea V in 2018, my thought process was to fill a gap in the market for a dedicated platform celebrating Black pop culture and entertainment. I noticed that mainstream channels often didn’t fully represent or appreciate the richness and diversity of Black culture. My vision was to create a hub that not only highlights but also elevates Black artists, creators, and thought leaders. By focusing on this niche, I aimed to build a community that resonates with the content and finds value in a platform tailor-made for them.

What should our readers know about your business?
What sets Monica Renee Tea V apart from others is the combination of deep-rooted passion for Black pop culture and a strong educational background. My degrees in Television and Radio, Filmmaking, Communications and Media, along with my ongoing Master’s in Business, give me a unique blend of creative and strategic skills. This allows me to create content that’s not only engaging but also well-informed and insightful.
I’m particularly proud of the community we’ve built. It’s a space that celebrates the diversity and richness of Black culture, offering a platform for voices that might otherwise be marginalized.
Getting to where I am today was by no means easy. The media landscape is incredibly competitive, and maintaining a dual focus on Monica Renee Tea V and my agency, Social Media Brand Xperts, presented its challenges. Time management and prioritization were key to overcoming these hurdles. I also had to learn the value of delegation, which was difficult for a creative who likes to be hands-on.
Some of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned include the importance of adaptability and resilience. Markets change, trends shift, but the ability to adapt sets a business up for long-term success.
My ultimate goal is to expand into a media conglomerate that serves as a beacon for Black culture and creativity. I want the world to know that Monica Renee Tea V is more than a brand; it’s a movement. And as we grow, we continue to break barriers while elevating Black voices in the world of entertainment and media.
