We had the good fortune of connecting with Mone’t Jean and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mone’t, putting aside the decision to work for yourself, what other decisions were critical to your success?
God! Simply put like that. Upon me starting my entrepreneurial journey I tried to control EVERYTHING in my life and I soon realized I couldn’t do this with my business. I have since then decided to trust God’s process for my business. My business is not where I would like it to be but I know for sure my time is coming.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
For starters I had to realize I could not work for others not because I am lazy or unmotivated but because there was no passion in the work I was doing. Most people including me would spend 8+ hours a day to help contribute to someone’s else dream. That did not cut it for me. I would rather spend my time focusing on my goals and accomplishments for my business. With that being said I have learned a lot, two things I will say is that you have to be focused and block out ALL distractions. In life people will try to down play visions you may have for yourself because they are intimidated so continue to wake up everyday and kill them with success. Another thing I have learned along the way is everyday will not be the same as far as income. Some days you may make your goal and other days you may not but the in important thing is you showed up. Don’t let it get to you, your blessings will soon overflow! I would love the world to know that monetthefashionicon takes fashion very serious. It’s not just about clothes. Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Well obviously to….EAT! My BestFriend and I enjoy eating, talking and having some drinks. I will take her to one of my favorite spots called The capital grille.
