Meet Molly Williams | Decorative artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Molly Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Molly, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I’ve always had a passion for art and creating since I was a kid. My grandmother was an artist and an inspiration in my life.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
That’s a long one! Well, I’ve been painting on and off for years, mostly just fun portraits. I happened to land a job with an artist in the decorative painting field, and it opened my eyes up to so much more! I learned about refurbishing furniture, murals, to hand painted floors. I love how the home is the canvas, and working with designers and clients on bringing their vision together. It’s one of a kind, unique designs that not only help elevate the interior of the home, but it’s personal. Creating a visual story. To see someone excited when they walk into a room in their home or business makes it everything. As far as lessons, watch where you put your paint and watch your step!
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Hmm, that’s a tough one, haha! I’d definitely take them to the top of Ponce City Market . The view of the city is spectacular. Grab a drink and eat along the beltline. Atlanta United games are always fun, and definitely go for hike! That’s a favorite of mine. There are so many trails to explore and the scenery is beautiful.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My grandmother and my sister. My granny painted her entire life until her 90’s before she passed. There are many paintings of hers in our family. Also, my sister, Cece, was an amazing artist. She passed away last year. She painted beautiful landscapes and did pyrography. They both inspire me everyday to keep going.
