We had the good fortune of connecting with Miss Woo and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Miss, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?

Success to me means staying true to self and having the freedom to do everything that I love. The most important factors behind my success and The Schoolhouse Concept brand are authenticity, a spirit of excellence and passion.

I am authentic to the essence of my mission, providing soft and safe spaces for children to operate in their true talents and gifts. I confidently work with a spirit of excellence in all that I create, leaving children with a memorable experience and skills that they can use to thrive while on their journey throughout life. My passion to live out my dream causes me to succeed because I am dedicated to walking in my purpose with discipline, consistency, persistency and resiliency no matter what.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

The Schoolhouse Concept is an exceptional 21st century educational experience for young learners. I deliver innovative learning opportunities for children to prepare for kindergarten and 1st grade while they recognize & use their unique talents & gifts.

Parents and caregivers use my sensory play products and activities to extend their child’s learning experience at home.

One of my favorite parts of the business is journaling with my students and mixing in the Socratic method. It is amazing to listen to children’s logical connections and life stories. The bonus is that I create the digital printable journals myself, which are available for purchase!

My business and my microschool are both still a work in progress. I use a mind map, my wall calendar and other tools to stay focused on the vision for my business. One of the lessons that I have learned is to release the need to overly multitask and focus on one goal (project) until completion.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First of all, Atlanta is the place to be! As soon as my friends come to town we have to eat. We would dine at Twisted Soul. But if we could not decide on one particular thing to eat, we would stop at Chattahoochee Food Works to try everything. One of the most exciting things about Atlanta in the spring & summer is the festivals. Everyone must experience going to a festival in the city! After riding through the city, we would wind down at the IWI Fresh Skincare Farming Spa.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

My parents, along with my entire village deserve all of the accolades. Each person in my tight-knit circle has always supported my goals (ALL of my projects) and encouraged me to walk in my purpose. My foundation is solid because of them by the grace of God. In return, I hold them accountable for living their dreams.

I would also like to give an extra-special shoutout to my phenomenal Spelman Sisters. The way they make space for me and the joy they bring are both matchless. I am grateful for our unbreakable bond.

I wish much success to women entrepreneurs!!!
