Meet Mirandia Coger | Business Owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Mirandia Coger and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mirandia, any advice for those thinking about whether to keep going or to give up?
If I’m honest, most days I think about giving up and even doubt can I do this. The question I would rather propose is “why do I keep going?”. I keep going because I know I carry what someone needs. It gives me great joy knowing that because of my determination to keep going someone will be able to benefit from it. I would never suggest giving up but what I might offer is for you to pivot. When it comes to The Change Agency, I have had to pivot several times regarding our business structure. At first pivoting made me feel like I was failing but then I realized that it was just a chance to make the business better.
Now I look at my business and tell myself I have no other option, meaning this is what God has given me so there is no turning back. When I look at it this way, it reminds me that giving up would be giving up on myself and what I know I am capable of. Every day I don’t give myself an option to give up, but what God offers me is affirmation and the grace to get past any hurdles.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
When I first did ShoutOut Atlanta I was still figuring out what The Change Agency, LLC would become. I can say now that The Change Agency has launched one of our sectors which is the Virtual Assistant business. At The Change Agency we have the opportunity to walk alongside companies and assist them with their vision and goals. I have had the pleasure of assisting several clients with their administrative needs which includes social media management, website updates, email management etc. In the coming days I would love to help other businesses as well.
When it comes to owning a business taking the first step is a huge feat in itself. With that being said I got here by taking steps, trusting God, and not comparing myself. It is said that comparison is the number one killer of a dream. I often have to remind myself that I am graced to run my own race and not anyone else’s.
One of the challenges I believe as a change agent is knowing that some of the ideas God has given me have never been done before. That means that there is no blueprint for it, nothing I can model, so I must completely trust God. If I am honest there is a business idea that is a sector of the company that I am nervous to launch or even pitch, but I have not given up. I am doing the work which includes research, networking, and a lot of prayer.
Regarding a proudest moment I would say it is not letting my fears and doubts get in the way of me accomplishing a goal. I was worried that I was not qualified to do it but once I got out of my own way, I was able to move forward. I still have so much to learn but I won’t stop being a student. In addition, I would say writing my book and being able to share my story.
If I could tell you one thing about our brand and my story is that showing up authentically is so important to us. Our logo for the company encompasses sunflowers and the thing I love is that a sunflower adapts to their environment. It is known that a sunflower pivots to face the sun as it moves across the sky but then at night, they rotate 180 degrees during the night to greet the morning sun. We here at The Change Agency adjust to your needs while still upholding our standards.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend came to Atlanta, there are several destinations stops that I believe she would enjoy. Botanical gardens is so beautiful and so many nice picture moments that would be amazing to explore. Of course, when you come to ATL you must stop at the iconic GA Aquarium and see all it has to offer. Then for some fun and games we must visit Your 3rd spot where they have arcade games, bowling etc. Now you can’t come to have fun and not take part in the delicacy that is offered here like The Flying Biscuit or The Crossing Steakhouse in Norcross. Then for a nice night cap but without the alcohol we would have to stop by the Sober Social. The aesthetics are beautiful, and the vibes are amazing as well.
In my view there is so many different activities and entertainment here in Georgia. I have only been here 2 years and I have not experienced all there is here. Every week/weekend you can find a festival, open mic, concert or even a football/basketball game going on. I am so glad I get to call this state home.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to first dedicate it to my Heavenly Father; without Jesus Christ I would not be where I am today. He has kept me sane in the midst of so much pain, turmoil, and even joyous moments. I am grateful that I even get to have opportunities like the chance to be interviewed.
In addition, I would like to dedicate this shoutout to my best friend. She has been a safe space for me. She is the holder of all my secrets and I for her and for that I am grateful. Eisha has helped heal friendship wounds that were caused by others. I always wanted a best friend I could count on, but I gave up after a while. Once I met her and we connected our friendship grew into a sister bond that has loved me and seen me through some rough moments.
