We had the good fortune of connecting with Miranda Castleberry and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Miranda, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
Through my content I want to show how each purchase we make is a decision towards the future we will have. A vegetarian lifestyle is just one of the things that can be done in order to make the world a better place. It doesn’t have to be all or nothing- through the use of social media I want to show how each person can make small changes in their daily life to have a positive impact.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Living in the South it can be challenging to be a vegetarian. My page is unique from other content creators because a vegetarian lifestyle is the focus of the page. In my 8-5 job I am an engineer sitting behind a computer all day. I am proud of myself for breaking out of my comfort zone. Content creation has helped me to show my authentic self. It can be challenging when you are basing your content value on a number of likes or views. However, focusing back on the mission to lessen the negative impacts that humans have on the planet keeps me motivated to continue. In life anyone can re-invent themselves at any point. Never limit yourself.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When I have guests in town my must visit places include: tickets to a show at The Fox Theater, walking on the Beltline, a picnic at Piedmont Park, visiting Drawbar for the skyline city views, going to a concert at Coca-Cola Roxy, delicious dinner at Planta and Yalda.
In my home city of Alpharetta we would visit: the farmers market in downtown Alpharetta to support the local vendors and grab fresh veggies. Mercantile Social for creative cocktails, the Avalon for an evening stroll and grabbing ice cream at Jeni’s, and Nahm Thai for dinner!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My first exposure to content creation was through the Yelp Elite Squad. After interacting with so many wonderful content creators who were so encouraging to me I started my @VeggieTravelGirl page. Once I began creating content there were many supportive people who I found in the content creation space. For example, Jacob (@TheBeerandPretzelGuy), Ishy (@TravelFoodie_Ishy), Marley (@Marley.Babe.Eats), and Brandi (@The_Hungry_Fashionista_ATL). Having allies that support your page and are immersed in content creation has been an amazing asset.
