We had the good fortune of connecting with Minister Brandon SEYMORE and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Minister Brandon, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
My Mom teaches me that giving up is not an option. Our brains are wired to give up easily, that’s normal. Wanting to give up is normal but it is not ok. It may seem as though you will never accomplish your goals or as if you will never amount to anything. You may feel like whatever you are striving for it taking too long or causing too much work and pain. YOU CANNOT GIVE UP because nothing worth having comes easy. Yes,, you may fail, you may get tired but you have to keep going. You have to work harder or you may never succeed. But we have to fight through the doubt and fear. Stay focused on the end results. Visualize what you want to accomplish and keep moving forward. Don’t give up on your dreams and goals. The bible says the race is not given to the swift or strong but to the one that endures.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I received my license to preach God’s word at the age of 10. It has been challenging because I am so young but I wouldn’t change a thing. The main thing I can share in my community is the word of God and my faithfulness. I can represent Jesus in the best way possible by being kind, friendly, submitting to authority and obeying God. Show kids my age that there is a positive way to live for Christ and be a kid all at the same time by being an example. Loving God and living for Him does not make you “uncool”.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
1st and foremost God who’s the head of my life, then there is my mom Linda Seymore. I call her the Modern Day Mary. She is amazing. Although she really wasn’t ready for me to become a preacher, she had to let go, because was going to use me whether she approved or not. She works full time and supports me and my ministry as well as supporting my sister who is a singer. When I have to travel, my mom drives. She makes sure my suits are on point, my hair is cut, as well as making sure I’m getting my studies done. She also keeps my calendar, makes my flyers, she is my editor, my photographer, helps with my social media.

My mom wears many hats. She gives unselfishly to everyone around, barely taking time for herself. I have to give credit and recognition to my support system for always being there and keeping me grounded: My Godparents Pastor and Lady Caldwell, my Uncle and Aunt Rev. and Lady Wells, my spiritual dad and mom, Bishop Gregory and Lady Wells, and my Godbrothers, Pastor Caleb Edge, Prophet Rakeem Jackson, Prophet Greg Wells, Evangelist Marcellus Nelson and Minister Damien Davis.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting for a week, the 1st place we would go is to Dave and Busters to play games and eat. We would leave there and go to the movie theater or go skating. We would probably go shoot some basketball or go to the pool. After that have dinner, relax and play video games the rest of the night. I am real simple…lol…all of my brothers know this.
