We had the good fortune of connecting with Milyssa Rose and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Milyssa, how has your pespective on work-life balance evolved over time?
My work balance has changed quite a bit in the last few years. I focus more on working behind the scenes with Mrose Inc and developing content. I am selective with the gigs I accept and the collaborations I feature on. I am working smarter not harder.
Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I would say what sets me apart from others is my ability to push myself musically and creatively I don’t follow what people are doing. I use elements of my musical theater background and love for the dark and creepy into my story telling and visuals. I am not trying to gain attention by looks. I am using my talent and my voice to empower people to be themselves. I want people to realize that life is so much more than how you look or likes on social media. It is what you do in real life that matters.
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
I love food and tea. I would say brunch at Good Food Kitchen +Market in Marietta,GA. I love their menu. It has options for both meat eaters and plant based folks. We can do dinner at Harmony Vegetarian in Chamblee. I love asian food so I wear that place out. I am all about Matcha. Cafe Maiko in Chamblee has the best matcha based drinks and desserts. I love walking. I usually walk in Downtown Marietta which is very close to home. We can always grab bubble tea at Tiny Bubbles and walk till our hearts are content. I enjoy driving into the mountains. We can always drive up to Blue Ridge and enjoy the sights and of course more walking in downtown. I am pretty low key. I am not a drinker or party person.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My undying thanks and devotion to Daniel Finsley. Daniel is my graphic designer, brand manager, producer and a dear friend. He inspired and motivated me to release Multiple M with a few rap tracks. I would have never done that without his support. I love Daniel dearly. I can not tell you how much he has impacted my business.
