We had the good fortune of connecting with Micki Webb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Micki, can you share a quote or affirmation with us?
“Plan your work and work your plan.”

I love this quote because it keeps my days on track. It reminds me not to take a rabbit trail or procrastinate what I don’t enjoy doing. As solopreneurs it can be quite challenging to wear all of the required hats. To maximize my efficiency I set my agenda prior to starting the workday and, barring any emergencies arising, I stick to the plan relentlessly.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m unique in the business coaching field because I’m an educator by credential and experience and I focus on showing other educators how to bust through district salary schedules and start immediately profitable businesses. I’m super excited about my signature program, Emancipated Educators, where I walk clients through my proprietary 4 Pillars to Profit method of building their business infrastructures, sales and marketing plans and technology plans. It’s a total game changer that takes them from dreaming to doing!

I am an entrepreneur in my core. I watched my dad own a company first as a side hustle and then full time. This is my fourth business and all have been immediately profitable. It’s the only model I embrace. It’s the only model I teach my clients to launch. The last thing educators need is added stress and a business operating in the red is stressful.

When I left school district employment four years ago, I was afraid. I wondered what I would do for medical benefits as a self employed person. I wondered how I would replace my salary. But I did it afraid and learned the secrets to putting together the needed components for a fraction of the usual costs and how to bring in revenue while building. Those secrets are what I love to share with my clients!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I live near the beach on purpose. It’s my happy place. I’d take a visiting friend on a drive down Pacific Coast Highway (PCH to us locals) and stop for a delicious lunch at a beachside restaurant. I’m always up for trying a new spot so we’d wing it – no reservations.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Keenya Kelley is an entrepreneur who inspires me with her work ethic, passion and positivity as I watch her on social media promoting her business and sharing her life’s journey with us.
