We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Parrish and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
Success can be defined in many ways. With my business I have maintained stability by being consistent. The success of my brand has been defined by the challenges that took place and how I came through those challenges as well as being able to tell the story afterwards. I contribute majority of the growth to putting the client’s perspective first. I’m always evaluating “how I would I feel as a customer”. I give each client the same experience no matter they are returning or it’s their first time.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the CEO and Co-Owner of Indulging Pleasures at custom cake company. We are a home based business that has been in business for over 8 years. What sets our business apart from the many great cake business in our area is our amazing taste, classy sophistication and ability to freestyle any cake to fit our clients vision. Due to the fact that most of our cakes are “freestyle”, we do not duplicate any other persons design. We make each cake unique for each client. It is rare to find a duplicate cake in our gallery. IPcakes began truly began from a thought. We began as a dream to build wealth and pass on something to our children and since then it has flourished into bigger and better things..

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Atlanta is such a diverse city! Night life and restaurants are definitely on the upscale. I would first take my friends to view all the monumental places here such as the MLK center and The many museums we have to visit. I would take them on an epic ride with Pedicab around downtown being sure to stop by Mercedes Benz Stadium.. I would also take them to visit one of the staples of ATL like the Varsity restaurant Atlantic Station shopping district.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I contribute a huge amount of my success to my spouse Timeka. When her and I met, I was only doing cupcakes and dinner cakes. She immediately saw my potential and said to me “you can do large custom cakes”. It took me a while to believe it, but she pushed me, she watched videos with me, she stayed up late nights with me which lead me to my advance self taught skills today!
