We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Mackel and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
There are a lot of public relations firms out there, but what makes Plugstar Entertainment different is the value that we place on educating those new to the entertainment industry about the ins and outs of the business and what pitfalls to avoid. We also coach clients on brand and business plan development, which sets them up to become both marketable and financially sound. Finally, we connect clients with our growing list of affiliates, who offer a wide range of helpful services. At Plugstar, setting our clients up for success translates into our own success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
As a business owner, everything that I do is influenced by my unique background as a female military veteran, a former club owner, a philanthropist, a working mother, and a woman of color. I had dreams of becoming a big-name music artist myself, but transitioned into being a club owner and a live concert promoter, while also creating a community events business. However, I desired to do more, and I wanted to help others achieve their dreams. I built my public relations company, Plugstar Entertainment, with the goal of educating and promoting new artists. I now represent a wide variety of authors, actors, models, entertainers, and more. Amongst my clients are fellow military veterans, whom I’m proud to promote.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I operate in Oklahoma City, OK, which is my hometown.

OKC nightlife : Dollhouse Lounge OKC, Symphoni Champagne Bar OKC with DJ JPoe , Monas Old School lounge in Lawton to meet some people that I grew up with in the music scene that help shape me like DJ Troy from 97.9 Jamz Fm.

River wind Casino in OKC, Apache Casino in Lawton Ok

Mount Scott in Lawton Ok and Medicine Park natural Activities, amazing authentic food and nightlife

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to credit the US military. During my time serving in the Army, I learned important lessons about the value of teamwork, paying attention to detail, and workload prioritization. These lessons have come into play as I’ve built my business, but also during my efforts to build up my clients.
