We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelle Fasig and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelle, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?

When I created my own event management and consulting business, I had worked in the events industry for over seven years. I got my start in the industry by volunteering at small-scale festivals around Atlanta which, over time, translated into a paid position and ultimately a full-time role with one of the festival production companies I had worked with. I spent the next few years figuring out how to leverage my experience and creative and operational insight into my own event management firm that can provide clients end-to-end capabilities including production coordination, concept and development, marketing, sponsorships, artist management and most importantly creating and managing relationships.

The new reality and change brought on by Covid was an integral part of creating my own company as the event space completely shifted over the course of two years from no events at all to now a need for creative thinking into the best way to deliver and event experience while dealing with all the restrictions we all face. In this context, I was suddenly fielding questions no one in the industry had been faced with or prepared for and found myself analyzing logistics, production, and creative elements through a completely new lens. Creating Pink Perspective offered a way to help my clients work through a challenging time while rethinking what events could look like in the future and helping them create new successful events right now.

What should our readers know about your business?
Pink Perspective is defined by our motto: You Dream it. We Create it. What sets us apart is we are a creative group of problem solvers that embrace unique challenges. Driven by our passion and love for building events from the ground up, our attention to our clients, their audience, and the overall experience, truly is unmatched. Starting and launching Pink Perspective during a global pandemic was not something I would categorize as easy. In a space that was not only quickly changing but in danger of becoming obsolete, the questions of “what now,” and “how,” and what is/will be the “new normal” for events were at the forefront of everyone’s mind. By leveraging my experience and consistently looking for unique ways to create and shape memorable events, I was able to form new opportunities for clients which ultimately transformed into a full-time business.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I were to take a stay-cation in my hometown, I’d check in for a few days at the Bellyard Hotel on the Westside of Atlanta. I’d spend one day at the Interlock eating my way through Saint Germain’s pastries, checking out Velvet Taco for their insane taco combinations, grabbing a drink and playing shuffleboard at Ormbsys and rounding out the night with putt-putt at Puttshack ATL. The next day I’d cruise back over to the Beltline and start my adventure at Krog Street Market. There are so many food stalls, restaurants, and stores to shop in; there is even a cute little store for pets. Then I’d grab a lime scooter and make my way to Ladybird Grove & Mess Hall for a mid-day snack and head over to Ponce City Market to do more shopping. There are so many boutique options with unique items that I love browsing. I’d end my Beltline adventure at Revery VR Bar for some virtual reality gaming, great cocktails and dance floor all in one space. On my last day I’d grab my niece and nephew and check out the Georgia Aquarium which is currently the biggest aquarium in the world and then spoil them at Yard Milkshake Bar which is famous for their Instagram-worthy milkshakes. A whole piece of cake on top of a milkshake? Yes, please!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

There are several people and organizations that have earned so much credit in giving me a chance to learn and grow. The first company that took a chance on a brand new “volunteer”- Veugeler Design Group, and specifically Angela and Randall Veugeler. They really helped pave my path and start the trajectory of my career. They consistently offered me opportunities to create new events and experiences while helping me cultivate connections in the industry that still serve me to this day. Secondly, Kevin Cregan at Atlanta Sport and Social Club. I think the most important lesson he taught me was never back down from a challenge or an opportunity. He also taught me that if you lead with passion, success will follow. There are so many others that have helped shape my journey and taught me so many things along the way, and I will forever remain grateful to those people.
