Meet Michele Josey | Financial Coach

We had the good fortune of connecting with Michele Josey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Michele, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
I wish I could take credit for my business and the name, but God gave me everything. I actually never had a desire to be an entrepreneur. However, in mid-late 2019, God put a desire in my heart to launch out. Even while taking steps, I had no idea what it would actually look like. As I continued to walk by faith, everything continued to unfold; the name, the logo, the training that I would l need, ideas and strategy.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The purpose of Mogul Beginnings is to prepare children to be financially whole later by equipping their parents with the right tools today. What sets me a part is the generational perspective that I have. It is not just about today, it’s about establishing better habits so our children can benefit. Much of our story is written, but we can set our children up to be debt-free and financially free.
I am excited about launching a group coaching program with a fellow financial coach. I recognize that not everyone, especially my target audience, can afford the rates of financial coaches. So, we are excited to offer a more affordable solution. Group coaching will not only provide the knowledge, but it also provides support through a community of others that also are striving for financial freedom.
I got here by the leading of the Holy Spirit. I got strategy to save for my business so I could do everything debt-free my first year. And I continue to be connected with resources that will help me become a better coach. It’s not always easy because I don’t always feel like putting in the time and effort. But, I think about my legacy: all of the families that will walk in freedom. I can’t let them down!
I have learned to keep asking questions. Even though we’re ‘experts’ in our field, we always have something to learn. Sometimes that advice, person, or piece of information can save us money, or even create a partnership. No seeds are wasted; we just have to trust that all of it will bear good fruit.
I would want the world to know that Mogul Beginnings is not just a catchy name. It really is giving the world a glimpse of me, a mogul in the making. I am not afraid to lift as I climb. Lifting someone else and helping them create a better future doesn’t make my journey less significant. I want to help you be financially free. Will you let me?
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I would say my mother. She was a single parent, but was financially savvy and she didn’t believe in debt. I guess some of that rubbed off on me. Then, in 2014, I was a part of a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University program. It revolutionized my thinking about money. Ever since then, I have been living on a budget and making sound financial decisions. My friends would even come to me for advice. They were my first ‘customers’ lol.
