We had the good fortune of connecting with Michelda Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michelda, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
What a great question! One of the single most important decisions for my success was making a conscious decision to do the work. I realized when I reflect back on my corporate career, my value to the organizations that I worked for was my ability to “get things done”. I’ve watched so many entrepreneurs lose momentum or delay their success for staying too long in ideation rather than moving to implementation and execution.

When we execute we collect data, information, testimonials, avatar feedback, and gain alignment and clarity around the services we offer, the products we are selling so we can rinse and repeat. My success is not having all the answers and not waiting on the circumstances to be perfect. It’s executing, doing the work, showing up for my success, leaning in to amazing mentors, learning the data, and then doing it all over again.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My agency, the COO Experts is focused on helping busy, frustrated, overwhelmed CEO’s move from ideation to execution. We do this by partnering with the CEO to establish strategic imperatives to include organizational goals, clarity of product and services with those goals, and alignment (systems) to create profitability and growth. Once we understand the vision, and the overall pieces to accomplish the goals, we help CEOs work to fill the gaps and implement systems, automation, and planning that leads to increased revenue.

We created the S.C.A.L.E. Methodology which serves as a roadmap for helping organizations scale their business models to multiple six and seven figure business. The acronym offers a 5-step solution to promoting momentum, and increasing sales in any organization.

The development of this model was the result of coaching and mentoring other entrepreneurs and realizing that many become stuck in implementation and give up or stop when they are unsure of next steps. With over 30 years of business ownership, and a team of Operations and Project Managers, we have tools and team to increase the probability of success.

The hardest lessons that we help others learn is without clarity it’s difficult to know exactly what to do to create the wins they desire.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Truthfully, I’m a homebody and lifelong bookworm. Typically when friends visit, I’m calling other friends begging for suggestions. I do like cafe’s, coffee shops, and nice rooftop venues when the weather is nice. It also depends on the individual. For some of my friends, we would spend the week exploring different golf courses, for others various hole in the walls and live music places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Huge kudos and shoutout to my amazing daughters who were patient in my early years of walking with me through the phases of solopreneur to CEO. It has certainly been the journey. Along the way, I’ve made a point of cultivating relationships, seeking mentors, and be apart of organizations that allowed me to be coached in the process of growing. This has truly been a village. I will however, shoutout specifically Tracy Timberlake who is my money mindset coach, and Lamar Tyler who forces me to analyze and then re-analyze my strategy, marketing, and systems.
