We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Oh and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I wanted to bring an experience to people’s home. At the height of the pandemic, restaurants were closed, everyone stayed at home, no one went out of town, so I felt like this was the best opportunity for me to pursue my passion and share my gifts to everyone.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I want to say that I am not any special chef. I don’t have skills like some decorated chef who can emulsify random ingredients and create some mind blowing effect. I just love to entertain and tell stories and cook. From the beginning of my professional career in corporate America, I have always learned to build a good network. Over the years I maintained friendships and sooner or later, they have become my clients. I can say 100 percent of my success has been through word of mouth. I want people to understand that we are all connected but food is the common denominator and I am honored that it has helped me bridge the gap.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Many places! We would start breakfast at Homegrown, followed by lunch at Fred’s Meat and Bread and enjoy the best burger in Atlanta. Afterwards we would go for a walk along the beltline and Oakland Cemetery to burn off some calories. . Then get a massage at Jeju spa and along with a body scrub. For dinner, enjoy an amazing experience at Lazy Betty. And then a fun night at Magic City – THE BEST WINGS IN ATL

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Anthony Bourdain, he is paved the way for aspiring chefs and food enthusiasts to break out of their shells, and explore the world and learn new cultures and FOOD!

Growing up my mother who is an amazing cook, loves to entertain and host parties. I would remember my mother engaging with her guests as she is preparing her delicious recipes.
