We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Cosey and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, is there something you believe many others might not?
I understand the concept of work smart not hard and in a way its true, you want to be calculated in the process of the work you do. I guess it’s the not hard part that really throws me off because when you are striving and building something you can not by pass the working hard. No matter how smart you decide to work hard work must follow.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The Healthcare Training Academy is a healthcare training facility that currently specializes in Phlebotomy certification as well as First Aid/CPR Training and Certification, What sets us apart from other programs is our intimate class room setting as well as our lab where our Phlebotomy students can get real hands on lab experiences from drawing blood to creating serum. The thing that excites me most about what we do is setting people onto new career paths, Sometimes the hardest thing to figure out is what it is you want to do in life and giving someone the knowledge to pursue the next stages in their career life is rewarding. Getting to this point in business has not been and still is not an easy task, everyday hard decisions have to be made. The goal is to incorporate more programs to the training facility such as EKG, Medical Assistant, and CNA to name a few and the what is helping me meet these goals and overcome everyday task is creating a strong team. Along the way I learning to spread the work, I can’t be everywhere and do everything that’s where creating that strong team plays its part as well.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Well, I’m not from Georgia, I am from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I am still finding nice, cool, hang out spots myself. If my best friend was to visit me, we would eat out at The Old Lady Gang, Ichiban Steak & Sushi, Poor Calvin’s, Roc South, and The Tastee Spoon. We would visit The Georgia Aquarium, MLK museum, and rent scooters to ride down the beltline. For hang out spots we would go somewhere like Cru, Harolds Chicken and Ice Bar. and a Hookah bar.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Its so cliche but without the love, support, encouragement, and mentorship of my Mother Bernadine Cosey I’m not sure where I would be today. She has always been the type of mother that would sacrifice her last for her children. She has always exemplified hard work and has shown and taught me that nothing worth having comes easy.
