We had the good fortune of connecting with Meriah Cummings Steele and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meriah, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The thought process for Unique Sistarz came about just realizing I could put all my talents into one and make my own legacy for my kids, just seeing life from different views but what really made me push forward was seeing my children when they would play with there toys everything was a business mindset I also want then to learn breaking generational curses and building there own legacies so when the pandemic hit my daughters ideas were what I made into reality beginning with there lashes, to sea moss, to clothing merch, and now branching to hair products and this is what makes the name my kids are UNIQUE SISTARZ

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Unique Sistarz is a black owned family business ran by my two daughters ages 11and 5y/o and myself during the pandemic we had so much time to sit and think and just let it creative side out.

We are more like your one stop shop.
 
Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Unique Sistarz we do event decorating, youth mentorship, custom clothing, self defense resin keychains, awareness keychains and merch coming soon,we have mink lash collections, provide sea moss and other items to build immune and now we have recently began our hair growth deep conditioner mask and oil last but not least we also have our own travel business where we book flights hotels rentals etc what separates our business from others is just the unique that comes behind us we make all customers and guest feel as family we come with a little bit of everything.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
There’s always something to do in the city that never sleeps if you know you know ookayy food is definetly in the menu even tho most time I prefer to cook vs going out to eat that way I know all is to my liking but there is a few spots like Slutty Vegan, Cornbread, MrDipper, taj lounge, Oracle lounge we would definetly go to rose mansion we are more on there go people don’t really like to plan because it doesn’t play out
