Meet Melissa Mekhmoukh | Aesthetician

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Mekhmoukh and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe that taking risks is part of starting a business. Opening Bliss Skin Aesthetics was the riskiest decision I have made on my own. It was a decision that took me completely out of my comfort zone. I’ve worked in dermatology practices and med spas for over 20 years, the majority of my aesthetic career and with all the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained over the years I knew I was ready to open my own. Starting from the bottom was so much work and scary at the same time but I believe that it was part of the process in order for me to grow and learn. Taking risks is a way of life in order to develop and be successful in your career. Many times I thought to myself if this was the right decision? was this the best time? but I knew if I didn’t take this risk now I was never going to do it and that dream of owning my own med spa was going to be in the past. The risk of opening Bliss Skin aesthetics was the best decision I’ve ever made, not only for me but for the 2 most important people in my life, my daughters. I’m setting an example to my girls that they can do whatever they want in life when working hard and taking the right risk.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I’ve been in the aesthetic industry for over 20 years. I gained my experience from working with successful medical spas and dermatology practices. This experience fuels my passions to want to open a luxury aesthetic practice of my own. Out of my passion Bliss Skin Aesthetics was created. I’m dedicated to taking care of each and everyone of my clients. Some things that set me apart are not only longevity and experience but also my ability to personally cater to my clients individual needs. I believe in providing results, creating custom treatment plans and making sure your skin goals are achieved. I keep up with all the latest and greatest in technology whether it’s from treatments and or products, I use different types of modalities and medical grade skin care to be able to provide the best results for each client. By developing my business there are of course challenges I’ve faced, one of them being responsible for all of the decisions made for the business and to be different and stand out on my own. As someone who wears many hats it is still very rewarding to be able to do what I love every single day.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Tthe perfect trip for us would be lots of family time, we are so busy with work and life that sometimes we forget to focus on just relaxing at home. we love taking hikes or just being outdoors, taking a trip to see waterfalls at Amicalola fall, or going to Helen little German town in North Ga. Atlanta has such great restaurants and is very diverse, we love going to our friend’s restaurant, Little Alley Steakhouse, for the best food, drink, and ambience or going to C & S Seafood and Oyster Bar for amazing drink and the best seafood in atlanta. one of our go-to places for breakfast or brunch is Waffle House, we love the casualness and it’s one of our kids favorite place to eat. There are many places to see and visit in Atlanta but I mostly love going to downtown Alpharetta, walking around shopping or just letting the kids run around on the greenery.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First and foremost I’m blessed and grateful to God for the guidance and giving me strength. My husband, and my kids are my biggest motivators. i would not of made the choice to start a new business if it weren’t for all of them. I grew up with my father owning several businesses, and seeing how much he worked and how hard he worked for us to have all the things he did not growing up. He instilled a strong work ethic for us, that is why we are very hard workers and im so grateful to have had that growing up. My husband is my number one supporter, without him encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone, i would not be the owner of Bliss Skin Aesthetics.
