Meet Melissa Hwang | Co-Founder and Marketing Director

We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Hwang and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
Evolve is about more energy, pure and abundant. The more energy one has, the more motivated to make healthier choices and stay on track. This is not about a diet – a diet has an end- Evolve is a lifestyle and a mindset for life.
Your body is a system of systems. The current health model is broken down into specializations that don’t take into consideration the whole body and how everything works together.
For example, weight loss is far more than calories in, calories out; it is a matrix of complex hormonal processes.
Another concept of: “you are what you eat” is far more complex than just that. It is what you digest, what you absorb, what your microbiome does with what you absorb, and what you think about what you eat.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I like to say that I am a creative artist who helps connect people to their perceived needs on one hand and their real needs in the other.
As a marketer by trade, expertise telling the story of a product or brand so that it connects to the right people who need it. I am so proud of the work that Mindy (my business partner, Evolve co-founder, and holistic health practitioner) and I are doing. So often as marketers, we don’t fully believe in or live the product that we are selling. However, when I met Mindy and experienced her life changing teachings, I knew that more people needed access to this information. Thus, Evolve Energy Tribe was born.
We are touching and changing lives, impacting people in a positive way, and helping so many live healthier, fuller lives.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
We have a great love of nature, martial arts, and guacamole. So, here are a few places we would hit up in the north Atlanta area:
Lots of hiking would be on the schedule, our favorite spots include:
– Indian Seats at Sawnee: this is a great, short hike and make sure you bring some nuts for the squirrels at the top
– Raven Cliff Falls: this hike follows a creek the entire way and ends at a pretty epic waterfall between rocks
– Yonah Mountain: there are a few rock scrambles, but the view at the top is totally worth it
For a great workout:
– Cumming Martial Arts: drop by on Tuesday, Thursday or Saturday mornings for a great kickboxing class and then stay in the evenings and try out a martial arts class to learn some highly effective self defense techniques
Eats:
– Dutch Monkey Doughnuts: their gluten friendly doughnuts are amazing
– Los Rios: one word – margaritas
– ReFresh- Handcrafted Superfood Cafe: acai and pitaya bowls are out of this world
Shopping:
– Phoenix & Dragon Bookstore: crystals, books, and cards

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Paul Chek, a world-renowned expert in the fields of corrective and high-performance exercise kinesiology, stress management and holistic wellness.
