We had the good fortune of connecting with Mecca Tartt and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Mecca, do you have a favorite quote or affirmation?
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This is a daily scripture that I live by and I believe to be true. When you are a entrepreneur you have to be your own cheerleader, while also reminding yourself that God never ends on a negative. There are so many twist and turns in entrepreneurship which is why it requires big faith. This scripture serves as a constant reminder that God has more for me, and that I have been set up to win despite any circumstances.

What should our readers know about your business?
I always tell people that my journey to entrepreneurship was like getting on an airplane and then realizing that in order to get to my destination I had to jump out the plane with a parachute. See the thing is growth happens in a place of being uncomfortable. People rarely grow in a place of comfort and my journey has been scary yet exhilarating and rewarding. Everything that I do in my business is to support women. My business focuses on supporting women’s physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. I like to call the ladies that join my events my “tribe” we belong to something so much greater than just showing up for a Self-Care Summit, Powerful Praying Wives 7 Day Prayer Challenge, A Weekend For Love Marriage Retreat, or my e-commerce business. My hope is that women feel supported at every stage of their lives. My community has grown to 1,500 women representing 65 locations around the world. I am most thankful for the platform that God has entrusted me with the reach and teach so many women.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love living in Atlanta and the funny thing is I have actually sent out a welcome email for friends with all this information. Our weekend would consist of going for a run on the Palisades trail, brunch at Serpas is a must for the shrimp & scallop grits, live music somewhere in the city, a day trip up to the North GA Mountains to go hiking at Amicoloa Falls (depending on the time of year also white water rafting), Dinner at C&S Seafood, window shopping at Ponce City Market while grabbing a few items at the Village Market, and if we can squeeze it in a hike at Providence Canyon aka The Little Grand Ganyon.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Absolutely I would like to shout out my life strategist Sheri Riley. Many people believe when they see a successful person that they have accomplished {fill in the blank} alone. The truth of the matter is that is rarely true, most successful people have a team, a board of advisors, mentors, advocates, and of course a therapist/life coach.
