We had the good fortune of connecting with Meagan Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Meagan, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Since becoming a mom this past November, my life has been all about work life balance. When my baby girl arrived Earth side, my focus was breastfeeding, sleeping, being a great partner, and revamping the Kitchen Goddess Shop. I knew this new chapter of my life would be challenging and exhausting but I made a commitment to myself to take the Kitchen Goddess Shop to the next level by April 2021 and I did just that. I did not want to become one of those moms who forgot about themselves and their goals. So my partner and I created a schedule that would ensure I have time to create my art (seasoning blends) and have me time. My me time consists of meditation, yoga and sound bowl healing which assist in keeping me grounded and my creativity flowing. This experience has been one of the most challenging but very rewarding and confirms to me that I am capable to achieving anything.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Before the start of the pandemic I was a private chef for 5 years. I specialized in creating healthy meal preps with a heavy focus on vegetarian and vegan cooking. My main goal of becoming a private chef was to share with the collective how food has healing power and what intuitive eating and cooking truly means for the mind, body, and soul. However, once the pandemic started and I found out I was pregnant, my career needed a readjustment. I decided to revamp Kitchen Goddess Seasoning and go the e-commerce route. And from there the Kitchen Goddess Shop was born. The Kitchen Goddess Shop offers a variety of organic seasoning blends for your favorite dishes, desserts, beverages, dips and popcorn. We also have healing herbal teas for mom and baby, kitchenware, spiritual kits, and hair, skin, and nails products. It’s truly a Goddess Emporium for all your everyday needs.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I am a foodie so when I have family and/or friends that come to visit me in Atlanta I always make sure we eat great! I love taking them to spots that they don’t have in their hometown. A few places I love to go is Legend’s Cafe, Desta Ethiopian Kitchen, Jack’s Pizza and Wings, Bua Thai and Sushi, and Jinya Ramen Bar. I love bold flavors and spice and these choices definitely live up to it.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to shoutout my mini family; my partner Phillip and our baby girl Skyland. Neither of us have family in Atlanta so we make sure we support and love each other through it all. Every day these two beautiful human beings encourage me to become a better woman, entrepreneur, partner and mother. And for that I am forever grateful for them and their love. I truly appreciate you. Love you guys.
