We had the good fortune of connecting with McCloud Teddie and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi McCloud, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I believe risk are taken by those who are brave. I’ve taken key risk all my life which has landed me where I am today. For instance, in 1986 I landed a job in security with Ga Pacific. Three years later I was an Operations Mgr. within the Transportation Division at GP. The way it happened was rather phenomenal, but I took the risk. My job in security was a front desk guy. I used that position as leverage to speak to every person that walked by. On several occasions I would speak to the CEO. And one day I asked the CEO whether he knew of any laymen jobs available within the company. Two weeks later he gave me a card and said call this person. I immediately got the interview and job which landed me as a dispatcher. I further became a Transportation Analyst and the Operations Manager. Another risk was developing Boys2Men Mentoring. I just love young people but had no idea the magnitude of the organization. In 2022 one kid graduation college and became a News Anchor. And another one graduated high school and have recently become the youngest Georgia State Sheriff.

What should our readers know about your business?
We have a Medical Firm which encompasses Newnan Family Medicine, Nu Body & Face Aesthetics, Primary Diagnostic Systems, Primary Focus, & Woodstock Medical Group. I was recruited from the Atlanta Braves by my friend Dr Bennett about 14 years ago. It was difficult in the beginning, because we had a Medical School in which have been sold now. But the day-to-day life was somewhat overwhelming. One of the things that set me apart is my devotion to seeing a multimillion-dollar company excel and see our employees comfortable in every area of life. Loyalty, presence and humility are key lessons I’ve learned along the way. I want the world to know that I’m a go getter. Once I commit to something I’m all in. God gives me what I need daily to overcome all obstacles, for example just last August I had a double stroke that left me in the hospital for five days. I miraculously came out unscathed which is a testament to his goodness.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
ATL is my home. I’m born and raised here so if a friend came to town and I was his or her official host. Id first of all invite them to get a massage at ISS (International School of Massage in Roswell. Then Id have to suggest a lunch spot called Chef Robbs, then for dinner Wagaya. Gusto Restaurant is my new favorite as well. There is so much to do in Atlanta. The new Westside has a host of authentic restaurants that will knock your socks off !

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First of all I’d like to thank God for His unfailing hand in my life. Secondly, I like to thank a mentor Rick Trotter, a best friend Shaanon Maney, my family for the love and support they provide. Id also like to thank David Brooks the author of “How To Know A Person””. The book resonates with me and teaches me the art of “Presence”. Presence is about showing up. When someone is going through a hard time, you don’t need to say some wise thing; you just have to be there with heightened awareness of what they are experiencing at that moment. Finally, a business partner in Cecil Bennett who’ve provided unyielding support for 30 years.
