We had the good fortune of connecting with Maurice Costello and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maurice, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The process was actually simple, the idea of creating my own music and having a company that I knew I could run how I wanted, giving talented people a chance was always the mindset. I took the time to really learn my craft and spent the necessary time to perfect what I wanted to do. I also took my time to really plan out where I wanted to be with my own business. Everything was executed precisely and carefully, there are always a few bumps in the road but I can say as long as your plan it right and follow it through, everything will be alright.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What separates me from others is the versatility, I bring tons of different sounds with my music. I try to do things that maybe big time producers wouldn’t try, or flipping something you hear before into something completely new. I have a few moments with my music I am definitely proud of, forming my own label first off, that was always my goal to have and run my own label. Next would be the team of producers I have that help me push this label to the next level with everything we are accomplishing. Beat Seekerz might just be the next big thing just look out for that team. When it comes to my clothing brand I have definitely hit some bumps in the road with creating a design that others might like and want to wear, but I took risk and they turned out just fine to where people ask where can they get a shirt or hoodie. My proudest moment with my clothing would definitely be creating my own website and seeing the amount of people that was buying my designs.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
While living in the ATL I have came across a few places that people should check out, food places hands down I would take anyone to Mr Fries Man, and The Retro Grill these two places right here is worth the check out. As far as places to hang out I would say the Rooftop, Slingshot, Round 1 these places give off a different vibe and is nothing but entertainment. The rooftop is the place you go when you want to have fun and just overlook the city and of course get a few photos in. Slingshot is a 21 and up arcade that is cool to go to on a date and Round 1 is there a place to go when you are feeling like a kid and just want to have fun.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
A few people come to my mind when I think about who has really been there to support me. The first person is of course my mother she’s the one who really pushed me to get started and continued to push me to make sure I got better at my craft or just with whatever I had going on. When it came down to my music she was there and when it came down to my clothing brand she is the one who got me my equipment and helped me start my first project. Then comes my family, without them being the support system and giving me feedback and ideas who knows where I would be with my business so I really appreciate them, my big sister, little sister, and my grandmother. My close friends that I keep in my circle that always shown support, I couldn’t have done it without them either because they have definitely shown love.
