Meet Maureen Wallis | Balloon artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Maureen Wallis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Maureen, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
I want my legacy to tell a story through my work. 1 Moe Balloon is “Moe” and she is fun, colorful, spontaneous and more important blessed. The success of my brand means I have accomplished what was meant for me to share with the world. I want the brand to be known for our attention to detail and memories created for our clients.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
When I first started on this entrepreneur journey I had no clue on how stressful, challenging and rewarding it all would be. Some days I’m on cloud 9 enjoying the wins and other days I’m pulling myself out of bed because the lows are really low. It’s a whole emotional roller coaster. I often talk and discuss my challenges with my inner circle because they know my heart and intentions. They help me stay focused and remember why I started. More importantly, I’ve built this brand by staying consistent in the work. I invest in education and practice on my down time to make sure I get it right; my clients love that about my work. Of course lessons are learned along the way and I appreciate each and every one of them. The most important is to stay true to your brand. My best work comes from the least expected clients that allow me to take creative control. When I’ve changed the perception of balloon art I know the world gets a glimpse into my passion. Atlanta is a city that will rock with you if you doing it right. I’m just waiting to look back and remember how it all started.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
First we’re stopping to eat at Slutty Vegan and Bar Vegan because I know they want to try it! At some point we’ll go boutique hopping to find some cute outfits to wear around. Since most of my friends like to shop, our time will be consumed doing just that! I’ll show them the historical areas on Edgewood and catch brunch at bqe. Most of the time there’s a festival or concert in the city and we’ll make sure to be there. A little night life on the weekend will top off the visit and most likely be the highlight of the trip.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Although my husband and business partner knows how much I appreciate his sacrifices, I would like him to know I couldn’t do half the things I do without his support and unconditional love. I love you Wayne!!
