We had the good fortune of connecting with Marrio Lemon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marrio, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I seen that my city need its own media outlet and I also love journalism.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Southern Rap Tunez Media Television started in 2009. My city is full of talent and we needed our own outlets. SRT Media Tv, also is a podcast platform. Highlighting and interviewing artist and entrepreneurs in my area. Outside of just doing cultural media, we provide photography, graphic design, videography, merchandise, playlists placement, artist management, mixtape placement and artist development. Which set us apart from other media outlets. I’m most excited about my second upcoming mixtape with DJ Tokars out of Atlanta. Who’s the number one mixtape DJ in the world. The brand alone I’ve been building since 2000 and I’m glad I’ve always pushed the brand further. At the end of the day SRT Media Tv is for the people. We would be nowhere without the peoples support.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting the area I would first bring the to my office where I do my media. Show them how everything works. Next I would take her to one of our many brunch and nightlife spots. Like CRU, NV, or the Flame. Then what is better than the Waffle House before heading in from a night of partying.
