We had the good fortune of connecting with Marquice Gee and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marquice, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I started my business during the pandemic, like many newer businesses. I am a huge supporter of anyone willing to take a risk and go after their goals. However, I started to see so many businesses popping up, but no longevity planning. I am a millennial, but I still value many traditional practices. Having great mentors that were willing to teach me and then having amazing peers that were also doing great work, I started to see there was a gap in understanding. So many older adults didn’t want to pour into the new way of doing business, and so many young entrepreneurs were too stubborn to listen. I wanted to serve as the bridge that was a demonstration to younger professionals on how to make beneficial connections and properly build and scale a business. From then it has evolved into a business based on networking and building resources that will help you climb to success much faster.

What should our readers know about your business?
G4 Unlimited, LLC is a motivational speaking and empowerment coaching brand where we strive to uplift, educate, and empower others to discover their passions that will drive their purpose so that they can then unlock their unlimited potential. We achieve these aims by conducting networking workshops for companies and community organizations to teach people what networking is and how to execute more effectively in their personal and professional careers. I also curate experiences for my brand as well as clients to help draw audiences to unique activities that are meant to educate and entertain. I think that what makes me stand apart is first my positioning in the skill of networking. There are many who may speak to it, but as their sole teaching tool there aren’t many. Also, my work in the event space has allowed me to help small businesses and other organizations in a unique way, in that they would normally have to spend thousands for an event planner or just trying to figure things out on their own, but I try to create plans that meet the needs of the individual client. I am most proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish in the last year with really just figuring things out as I go, but that is why I preach the power of networking so much because I would not have made it this far without it. Making it to this point has definitely not been easy. A lot of nights where I can’t sleep, or I’m doubting myself, or simply overwhelmed and stressed. However, when I can wake up and meet a complete stranger who has heard of me through the grapevine, or acknowledges the work they see put in on social media, it makes me remember my purpose. Especially coming from my city, being able to make impact in the way I have and make connections and friendships with people I only imagined working with has been a tremendous blessing and a daily reminder that I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to. I’ve learned to have patience with myself and give myself grace. There are so many things I want to do and need to do with only so little time. There’s time I need to take for myself to rest and recharge so that I can continue to operate in excellence and serve my community at the highest level possible. I want the world to know that I put love and intention into everything that I do, and no matter what I want to see everyone around me win!

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m from Indianapolis, which I think a lot of people sleep on but there is actually so much to do. From locally curated events, to food halls, and adult gaming sites. I would of course start with a welcome brunch at one of my favorite brunch restaurants, Mornings, where we can have a mimosa flight to get the vibes started! We would go to the Bottleworks District downtown where we can catch a movie, go duckpin bowling, and even sit and have a cocktail or a bite to eat at The Garage Food Hall. We could go for candlemaking at Penn & Beech. We could spend a Saturday morning at one of the many farmer’s markets in the city. We could go for a bike ride down the canal. I’m mostly a homebody though, so I’m always down to cook a nice meal at home or order our favorite foods from all of our favorite restaurants and have a cute pajama night, game night, or movie night with some of my other close friends.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
There are way too many people to thank for the position I am in now. First, definitely thanking God for His tremendous favor over my life. My family for always pushing me and encouraging me and believing in me even when they didn’t understand. All of my friends and those I hold community with that support me and not only believe in my vision, but also participate. Lastly, thank you to every person who has ever given me an opportunity, supported an event, or even just commented and reshared content. It goes much further than you know!
