We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlon Adams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marlon, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I live by risks. No risks, no rewards. I think risk is what separates the good from the great. I strive for greatness, so taking risks are almost an impulsive nature of mine. It’s definitely cost me a couple times, but each cost was reimbursed to me by the lessons provided.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Man… HELL NAHH this wasn’t easy at all 😂😂😂. With anything in life you’ve gotta be willing to put in your 10K hours tenfold. I’ve just always been determined to study my craft, study the greats that came before me, and apply myself to supply my wealth. One thing that I’ve learned over time is my true purpose as an engineer and this would be the same thing I want people to know about me and my brand. MixedByMooch & PlugPlayExperience are all about assuring grassroots & independent artists that they can receive the highest quality sound & unrivaled quality service for the most feasible price in comparison to anyone. The money never mattered. Building chemistry and creating great records are the only things that ever matter.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
A week long trip? Well if this is my best friend we’re definitely gonna stop by my family’s crib for some food, fun, and fellowship. They can come lose some money either in card games or ceelo. We can have a great night out @ Kabana Rooftop. The bartenders always show me love in there. And I know the chefs. Shoutout Pacqs Kitchen. They also do weekend Brunches at MainStage. So we could parlay there too. Definitely gotta hit community yoga @ the 17th street market presented by BareSoul Yoga. I live right in the middle of downtown so there’s almost always something to do. Ace’s Sports Lounge is a fire new venue in town. Between The Spot, Chilalay, WorkShop, & Rotate there’s always some type of pop up event going on.
There’s plenty tbh. Too much to pinpoint. All the best food tho? Aside from Pacqs Kitchen? It all comes from small businesses, owners of food trucks, things like that.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Much love to my older brother, Barry, he just passed away not too long ago. My brother was always proud of me and the work I did. When I ended up broke and forced to move back to VA, he made sure I could get clients and make money, he even set me up with 2 apartments in one year. One of which I still use as a home studio. I’m forever thankful for my brother. #BeeZo4Eva
