We had the good fortune of connecting with Marlo Prevo and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Marlo, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I come from a family full of entrepreneurs so I like to say it’s in my blood. Having time and the ability to be flexible was very important to me. I wanted to be able to have a business that could help others. Real estate was that for me because you are helping with one of the most important purchases in a person’s life. I could have a part in building that family’s wealth.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a mom of 3 and I wanted to make sure whatever career I chose I would be able to be a present mom. Being in the real estate industry is not for the weak. There are always different obstacles to overcome. That in itself keeps things interesting to say the least. I think what helps me be successful is the fact that I exercise patience and always have my clients back. I am most proud of the fact that people trust me to help in their real estate transactions but also refer me to their loved ones.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my friend came to town for a week. I would take them to the Standard for drinks. If they are a tea person definitely Fresh from Earth, their teas are amazing. To eat I would take them to Forks and Flavors. I love going to outdoor concerts and City Winery to check out some of my favorite R&B singers.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my family. They have truly pushed and supported me through every aspect of my growth in this business. My husband keeps me positive and always ready to face the day with determination.
