Meet Marley Wolf: Singer/Songwriter/Producer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Marley Wolf and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Marley, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
I’m big on balance. I believe balance equals peace. Fortunately my business revolves around what has always kept me balanced. My art is my way of exhausting the negativity & even the anxiety that comes with just being human. I’ve cultivated my place in the spectrum of peace & chaos. That’s what it boils down to. It’s about where you fall on the spectrum of peace & chaos.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I’m a vocalist by trade but I’ve put my hands in many different facets of art because I’m naturally curious. I think I’m infatuated with the idea of expressing my feelings & somehow causing someone else to acknowledge their own. I think that shows in the way I write. I’m introspective when it comes to my concepts & what not. Actually I’m just like that in general. Listening to my music is like walking into my room & hearing me talk to myself without announcing your presence. My songs come out as an uninterrupted synopsis of myself, regardless of the situation. When I was younger I didn’t understand what my mind was doing but now I get it. I’m very critical of myself. It’s a gift & a curse, I guess. It’s caused me to create some of my best work. However it’s also kept me from releasing music because it wasn’t “right” in my eyes. I had to convince myself that it’s never going to be right sometimes. I learned to look at it from a consumer’s perspective. That’s The balance part I always speak on. That’s what I fight for. I fight for balance. It’s the foundation for peace. My brand is all about that theory. Wolf County is the direct representation of that. Living between peace & chaos.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My days of being outside all night are over. I spend my free time chilling. I’m a bar person before I go to a club. I’ll go to a club of I’m invited but I like environments that are relaxed & controlled. I won’t even do big crowds unless I’m tucked away in a VIP section or something. I like patios, tequila & cigars. If you dig that then I can show you some places.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Everybody that knows me knows where I direct my gratitude. I grew up in a very insulated environment where art was omnipresent. It’s logical that I became what I am. That’s why I take compliments the way I do. You’re not complimenting me. You’re complimenting my family.
