We had the good fortune of connecting with Markita D. Collins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Markita D., how has your work-life balance changed over time?
That’s a great question. I’ve learned the hard way that I don’t have to balance everything. You know what I’m ok with that too. What I needed to do was prioritize. Meaning, what do I give my attention and focus to that day, week, month, heck that moment.

If I balance everything that will become

heavy and potentially stressful, but if I prioritize I’ll have the space to choose what’s of importance in that moment and focus on that.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I’m a Certified Master life coach, Licsensed Minister, Ordained Prophet, spiritual advisor, relationship strategist and so much more.

I absolutely love helping others WIN! Overcome! Heal! Build! It is apart of my purpose to help people be their true authentic self.

I believe what sets me apart from others or what I’ve been told is my ability to touch and be honest without humiliating or breaking people down (humiliating or bringing mental and emotional distress to their lives).

I am very honest with my clients and I don’t allow them to make excuses . I believe in my “REAL RAW UNKUT” way I’m able to see what others don’t in an individuals and advise them to go down a better path .

It was not easy, I really didn’t want to help people, but GOD kept pushing me to open my mouth and tell them the truth. This was pre training and courses. For the longest I was that one that was always giving advice and coaching people before I even knew what that was. Oh and for FREE!

I had to overcome fear, rejection, being over 100lbs overweight, obstacles etc. by remembering who called and chose me. If I were to leave it up to people I would’ve stopped and move on to something else, but that wasn’t my life’s call to settle and go with the flow of others, honey I had to obey GOD.

I’ve learned that purpose is bigger than me. I’m not walking this life out to only satisfy my wants and desires. My purpose is help others win, help bring them into the realization that they can do anything! I’ve learned that pain is real, trauma is real, but so is healing and overcoming. (Glory to GOD) If I can help people get to that place I’ve done my job (purpose) feel me?

I want people to know that I am a woman who’s been through it all! Abuse, rejection ,poverty, abandonment, divorce, being overweight and in a dark place BUT I’m walking in the complete opposite of the former and my story (testimony) is real. That’s why people respect , receive , relate and love me.

My brand is to the family! Women especially. I’m about that life for real.

As life coach I train and help people meet their goals.

As a mentor I pour into my clients and give advice and strategies.

As a prophet I say whatever God/ Jesus leads me to say to help people spiritually.

As a regional director in TLC I’m able to put some of the best health and wellness supplements in the hands of others or help them start the business and they make money.

As an influencer I encourage people to LOVE, Live, and forgive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

Oh that’s easy…out side of just relaxing and doing NOTHING (That’s important too lol)

Let’s get massages

Mani’s and Pedi’s

We are going to walk and get outside the four walls. You know covid had people afraid to even breathe, so we are taking good air and enjoying nature. (Just as long as I don’t see bears, coyotes, bugs, snakes) put it this was this city girl has to see a few cars around lol.

We gotta eat good. 4 star at least dining like Ruth Chris (my fave)

We have to shop

Worship and praying is a must.

I also love to reflect and just talk.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My husband Ali “Shaun” Collins who’s not only my rock and number 1 supporter but he’s also best friend, driver, graphic designer and more. There’s some many people I know that I could mention but I have to be honest. With out my husband here on earth I wouldn’t be having this interview right now.
