We had the good fortune of connecting with Mark Gasparro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Mark, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
In my experience, all of the most impactful life events I have tackled have involved a fair amount of risk. From moving to France right out of school in England when I was barely 21, to embark on a new life, new career in Real Estate, in a country where I did not speak the language, to starting all over again here in America a couple of years ago after getting married to an Atlanta resident. I find that most decisions we make involve some element of risk, but rather than avoid risk, the key is to anticipate it, prepare for it, and embrace it. I also find that the older I get my approach to managing risk has evolved. The carefree nature of my decision making when I first moved to France has been replaced with a more methodical approach, but I remain eager to move through risk and not let it keep me from embarking on the things I want to accomplish.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career has encompassed the past 22 years selling high end, luxury real estate primarily on the French Riviera from Cannes to St Tropez. This is a highly competitive business, but I find that there are several key elements that I have worked hard to develop that I feel have served to provide me with a competitive differentiator in the market. Three things specifically. One, unparalleled business and market knowledge, and a passion for the industry. Number two, a relentless focus on providing outstanding levels of personalized service. And number three, upholding the highest ethical standards. There is a fourth element that has been critical to my success in this luxury market. The client base that I have been fortunate to develop has included entertainment and sports industry VIPs, senior government officials, fortune 100 C level executives, etc, making absolute discretion a critical element that may not be as essential in other parts of the business. I have brought all these traits and experiences to the American market and they have quickly become part of my personal brand here in Atlanta
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So, this is a tough one for me. I moved to Atlanta from France just two years ago, and my time has been consumed with becoming very familiar with the market, particularly my farm area, so I have not had a lot of time to really explore these types of activities. Having said that, I can say that we are fortunate to have a great variety of really good restaurants in the area, and I have had the pleasure of experiencing some great culinary moments. I look forward to learning more about some fun things to do in Atlanta
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I have been fortunate enough to have had many different people who have influenced me throughout the years. I thank my spouse who is constant support and pushes me to be the best I can be in a variety of different ways.
